Well you can go to Fort George and get a nice view of the Northern part of the Island. It's in St. James. The zoo is relatively cheap. There is a "look out" area on the Lady Young in Morvant which is also a nice view. And of course there is Maracas beach.
Those are good suggestions. The Fort George view is good anytime but they close at 6pm. The Lady Young Road view is cool during the day but after sunset you get to see the lights (of the small city.lol) as well as enjoy craft and food from vendors.
Both locations are accessible by car but there are not taxis that go there directly.
In terms of your 48 hours, there is a lot you could do depending on time of day, transport and your energy level.
Nature lovers should do the wetland boat tour (Caroni Swamp, anytime before the last boat at 4pm), Las Cuevas beach and Maracas beach on the North Coast.
Macqueripe Bay is a nice beach with zip lining available nearby as well as the small boardwalk.
It depends on where you are staying, since your stay is so short you want to maximize your time. The beaches, rivers are great for bathing and relaxation and Ariapita avenue is popular for night life also.
Well first of all what do u like to do u can do beach in the day or even hike to a waterfall or sightsee and party in the night
