If you can make it to Shanghai Cafe they are incredible. 145 1300 S #145, Salt Lake City, UT 84115
Tonkotsu Ramen bar is in west valley I highly recommend them. 1898 W 3500 S #10, West Valley City, UT 84119
In my opinion a lot of the better food is in the heart of downtown Salt lake City if you make it out there.
I tried the Tonkotsu Ramen bar today. It is not bad. The tonkotsu soup base is generic. It didn't make want to slurp it up like Shinsengumi Ramen in LA or other ramen places in San Diego.
What kind of food u looking for?
Anything really. I like steak, Mexican and Asian food.
it might be hard to get comparable asian food if you are from california... but i like pho saigon noodle house, myung ga, and gossip out in wvc. if you venture further, i like el viroleno (not mexican but el salvadorian pupusas). red iguana (mexican) is always really popular. and tosh's ramen is fairly popular as well (doesn't compare to anything i've had in LA though).
Thank you Lansia. I will look these up.
Myung Ga
I second Red Iguana if you're going to do Mexican food. Easy to get to on Trax, too, if you don't have a car.
I'm a fan of Sapa when it comes to great Pho. There are also many types of Asian restaurants around. The best place to explore for food would be downtown SLC.
chin wah in sandy it the best Chinese in the state.
West valley is great for pho. Saigon is good. Pho Cali also. Killer Al Pastor tacos at the Latin Mall (google it).
Gateway mall has some cool art exhibits as well as locally made art and clothes.
