What's the best winery for a wine tasting ?

Hi guys ! I'm going through SLO and wanted to do a wine tasting in the area (not a wine tour, just a tasting directly at the winery). Does anyone have any advice for a precise winery ? Thanks in advance !

Depends on the varietal you like. For fantastic red cuvées (blends), Core Winery in Orcutt. For a fantastic tasting experience with a great view, Presquile in Orcutt.

There is so many good wineries it is hard to say one is the best. Monarch Grove in Grover Beach is nice. Edna Valley has many fine wineries, Edna Valley, Tolosa, Baileyana, Chaimsal etc, Going north to Templeton, Santa Margarita, Paso Robles too many wineries to list!

Baileyana for all around experience: good views and space for activities, and decent cheap wine.

Chamisal for great wines and scenery, but quite expensive.

this is a late reply but if you're still in the area ...

I agree with those who said Baileyana and Chaimsal in SLO, as well as Saucelito Canyon - and Kelsey if you're going to Avila Beach.

In Paso Robles, I recommend Herman Story, Clos Solene and L'Aventure (need to call ahead for an appointment on those last two), Calcareous, Brochelle, Hug Cellars, Cass, and August Ridge.
