What's the best way to get from Tampa airport to Sarasota (and back)? Once in Sarasota, there's a car I can use.

I would first look at renting a car they can be as cheap as $25 bucks a day and can be left at many different locations. there is also the option of taking an uber, but will probable me a little more money.
i agree with this answer
From Tampa Airport to Sarasota take 275 South through St Pete and over the Skyway to 75 South. Look for exits to Sarasota...starts at Exit 213 University Parkway. Total trip about 60 miles and 65 min.
You can take a Greyhound bus for about $20, but the ride may be about 3-4hrs long, rent a 1 way car from the airport, or get an Uber. If renting a car, you may want to take the route on the west side of Tampa Bay so you can site see and maybe go to Clearwater Beach, St Pete area, etc, versus the east side of Tampa Bay with not as much to see or do, and maybe only about 10 min longer drive. About 1 hour drive via car, and about 60 miles.
I know of a Sarasota/Bradenton couple that has an airport driving service that is very reasonable. Where in Sarasota will you be going? If they're not booked, they might be able to drive you to and from TPA. Private message me if you'd like their phone number.
Unfortunately, the best most efficient way is a pay for a ride via Uber or Lyft. To save money, take the FlixBus. However, FlisBus has very few stops between those cities, so you'll likely need to take a cab to/from the bus stop.
Typo - Flixbus
