Going to Cosenza (Rende) with my students 12.-28.9. Need advice and company please!
The students will work in veterinary surgeries on all working days and I will have a lot of free time. Anyone to show me round or to give me some tips where to take them at the weekend? :-)

Hi Jana. You can go visit the historical centre of Cosenza, for example, that is really beautiful, with interesting monuments and places. And also nearby there is the Svevo Castle. Which zone of Rende are you located in precisly?

Hi Jana if you need a guide contact me on PM
Hello Jana!!! There are several places that you and your students could visit here in Cosenza. I would suggest to visit the Historic Town, most of the buildings date back to 700 years ago, visit the old civic library and the Rendano Theatre. There are also several churches to visit in the Historic town. The "Fontana dei 13 canali", situated just about 500 meters from the Rendano Theatre, it's a very simbolic place where women used to do their laundry in the old times; the water is still running, not sure, but probably since many centuries. Visit the old castle "Castello Svevo", on the top of the hill, which represents the most significant monument of the town, built since the mid of the 10th century, at the same time, from there you will have a breathtaking panoramic view of the town. Ultimately, for the weekends, I think that if you guys like night life, there are plenty of crowded bars in the central area. Walk your way through Corso Mazzini and then you will have plenty of options, there are bars a little bit everywhere, just within minutes, in Via Tagliamento, Via Calabria, Viale Parisio and Piazza Santa Teresa. I hope you guys will enjoy your stay in Cosenza and if you need more information or help, don't hesitate to ask me again.
Thank you all for your tips. First I was afraid to get no answers and then I got a lot of advice even in private messages. We are really enjoying our stay here now, also thanks to you, guys. :-) Maybe one more question - we would like to go the the national park Silla next weekend, just on a 1 day trip but we would like to go to 2 or 3 places there (to see the wolves, the old trees and then to climb some hill to have a nice view of a lake and mountains). What are the possibilities to get there. I have heared that there is a bus but I don´t know how much it costs, how often it goes and how much the tickets costs. There is 7 of us, so maybe we should rent a microbus but I don´t know where. Or are there 2 volunteers with cars to take us there? Of course we would pay the petrol. :-)
