Time to reach to Abisko National Park from Taby

Hello, i'm coming to Sweden and i'll be living in Taby , i'd like to visit the Aurora but how much time does it take to reach there? and what's the easiest transportation to take from taby to get there? Thank you

Hi, Going from Stockholm to Abisko National Park in northern Sweden is a distance around 1300km, in comparision: Riyadh - Jeddah is around 950km. So to fly and then take a bus is the quickest, otherwise it going take at least a whole day (by car, bus or train) to get there.

The possiblity of good visibility of the aurora depends on 4 factors: Clear sky (if it is cloudy you will not see it) Darkness (right now in Abisko it will never be really dark) best time to visit is around nov-feb for darkness. Solar activity (that depends on both short and long time factors, http://www.aurorahunter.com/aurora-prediction.php) - as said in link - mostsolar activity is usually in September and March. Your location: more north gives more chance to see it, since lower solar activity still gives aurora lights in the sky.

Hi Aisah,

I live in Stockholm the whole my life but only visited Abisko National park once. It's a great idea! Probably one of the best things I have done in my life. Going by night train from Stockholm directly to Abisko was exciting way of travelling. It departs around 18pm and arrives in the afternoon next day. Check sj.se for timetable. Abisko is so much more than watching the Auora. Most people walk the trail Kungsleden and the landscape is amazing. Check https://www.swedishtouristassociation.com for accommodation.
