Any tips on free/cheap parking around Venice Beach?
Hi guys,
As part of our road trip later this month, we are staying 4 nights close to Venice Beach. Any advice on a free or cheap parking in this area? Is street parking available? Any tips are greatly appreciated! Thank you

Walking will safe you money. Park about 2-3 blocks away from the beach front/board walk and you should be able to find free parking. Just read the parking signs so you know when the street sweeper passes by.
Street parking around Gold's Gym and Google is pretty good and is just a few blocks to the beach. You can also park overnight (beginning at 8pm I think) on Pacific Ave (the main street through Venice, closer to the beach), but you'll have to move your car before rush hour traffic time in the morning (I think 8am) or else you'll get towed.
Thank you very much!
Thank you guys!
A lot of the side streets have street cleaning on weekdays and no parking until after noon. Go at 11:45 and get free street parking a block away. :)
There is beach parking on the boardwalk, I recall it being affordable. I usually circle the neighborhood & usually get lucky. The library near the boardwalk, check for hours, they lock it.
Dream on. There is no such thing as free parking at the beach near LA. Bring rolls of quarters. Then take Lyft or Über instead, and spend your quarters in bars and restaurants.
There is plenty of free street parking the neighborhood. You may have to walk a few blocks to the beach but it's not bad at all. Rose street about 4-5 blocks from the beach is good and the side streets off of Rose too. Just make sure to check for the street sweeping signs.
I live in Venice. Some little known parking spots near the beach are, again, on Strongs Dr. between Venice and Washington, a little further South near the Canals; around the dog park on Clubhouse and Westminister Aves, off Pacific or Main St.; Innes Place; around Golds on Hampton; and the further East into residential areas. DO read signs. Sat. and Sun. parking will be the worst.
If you get to the beach before 10 AM there is usually available parking 2-3 blocks away from the beach, I usually manage to find a spot near venice blvd when arriving this early.
General Comment: Street signs are confusing depending on where you are parking. Some have a series of hours you can't park, some are residential permit parking (usually stated with a permit number) and others are the street sweeper days and hours. Read the signs several times. The meter cops are not friendly and do give tickets easily.
