Lots of possibilities in Hawaii! Big island is famous for a manta day night dive, and there is a lot of really awesome diving there as well with chances to see large animals like dolphins, mantas, tiger sharks. Big island is one of the less visited islands compared to Maui or Oahu as far as crowds are concerned, and you can also see the lava flow right now which is pretty amazing. Maui is another great option for diving as it gives you access to a wide variety of diving, including the Cathedrals at Lanai, which are some of my favorite dives in Hawaii. Maui is a fun mix of nature and night life- there are plenty of off the beaten path options and incredible natural beauty, but there’s still a lot going on in the towns. Oahu is pretty meh in my opinion, although there is some pretty cool wrecking diving to be had there like the Y-O and the San Pedro. I’ve never been to Kauai but I’ve heard it’s one of the best islands for hiking and exploring. The diving there isn’t anything special from what I’ve heard, but during the summer you can do trips from there to Ni’ihau which is supposed to be THE BEST diving in Hawaii. However the trip to Niihau is expensive so depending on your budget if you want to dive a lot it might not be the best option. Let me know if there’s anything else you’d like to know, I used to work as a dive instructor in Maui and big island have dive extensively in Oahu. Jordan
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm certified but very amateur right now so ill probably wait on the wreck dives for now. The cathedrals sounded pretty amazing. Thanks for the insight!
Any particular dive company you like?
Thanks for the advice! Is there any particular diving company you'd suggest heading out with? I saw the night dives which look pretty amazing and had that on the list for sure. I'm thinking I may end up out there alone and probably stay with AirBnb as I've had some rough experiences with hostels and bed bugs. Suggestions as to what city to stay in?
