In Spain it’s a tradition for the last year University students to go on a trip all together, being Riviera Maya, Tunisia or Punta Cana some of the favourite destinations. We call it “viaje de fin de Grado”. It’s an about one week trip, before the final exams, with a budget of about 1000€/pp. Do you do something similar in Poland? At Uni or only at high school? I’ve found that in some countries they don’t do anything at all, while in others a “gap-year” trip is more popular. In some others they do so, but only after high school graduation. There's no (or maybe there hasn't been when I was studying) such a tradition in Poland. People of course go for trips but it's not that common and doesn't apply to everyone. Of course it will be changing and maybe in two-three generations we'll have West European style tradition to go for such voyages. Bear in mind I haven't done any polls or anything like that so it's just an opinion.

Hey-) there is no any tradition of that in poland-(((. So so sad. Gap year is still not very popular - but more and more poeple do that-you may find them sometimes interviewed in magazines

Such amount of money is enough for half year for polish student. Not for one week only:)

Theres no such a tradition. Its rather popular to treat such trips as team building ones and start the studies (not finish) with about one-week long camps at the beginning of studies / high school so as students could know each other better.

It is not tradition but when you're student of tourism and leisure there is usually at last year exam where you need to organize trip somewhere (whole class) around Poland or to country nearby us. At that time you'll be responsible for everything like : rent a bus to travel to your destination, place for sleep and whole programme of a trip. Students are tour leaders for themselves and for professors. It's an exam but also you have fun at that time and then you'll know if this is your thing or not :)

I don't know about other Universities in Poland, but as far as I know there was nothing like this at mine. At the beginning of the studies - camp for new students, yes, but at the end - nada. Especially with this amount of money :)

Never heard of it. And yes, for 1000 euros I could go for very long trip in Poland.

I had one after high-school in Vienna (Austria) (it costed 800 euro and was best party of my life!). Nothing like this is going on in Poland, unfortunately :) But those "get together" camps on the beginning of university are very popular. Those are offten organized by Student Organizations with the financial support of Univerity Management.

A gap year is more and more popular in Poland these days, but still few people decide to do so - it's more likely young people will go to uni rather than going on gap year after graduating high school. 1000 Euro it's a lot in Poland, you can go on all inclusive holidays somewhere warm abroad for this amount, which is more likely to happen for student having some extra cash ;)
