I would want more time. There’s lots to see. Where are you coming from by public transportation? If San Francisco it’s quite a long journey by bus.

Short answer: Yes. But it depends where you're staying and what you want to see. Yosemite Valley is accessible by public transportation all year, and there is free shuttle service around the main Valley area.
