We cannot host for now, but I can guide you around Sapporo. honest and generous about many things for better or worse. I'd like to emigrate to England in some years. Currently I'm a programmer, movie editor, Director of NGO and help managing volunteer groups.
Life is a journey. Maybe the start line differs, but we’re all heading to the same destination, death. Some people pursue the social status, some people look for their life purpose, some people like to live a normal life. I respect all the lifestyles. And I choose to go for adventures, looking for new things, having new experiences, meeting new people. Following my heart, believing myself, a wonderful world is always out there waiting for me, there’s no reason not to explore. Life should be full of up and down, when it becomes flat, then it’s not living, our heartbeats are the example. There’s no can or can’t, there’s only do or not. CURRENT MISSION: travel around the world, meet CS host and stay with them as much as I can and hope to return the favor in Japan. I'm absent from home and travelling abroad. I’m sorry that I cannot host during this period.
Hi! I’m a fourth-year undergraduate student studying agriculture at a university in Japan. Right now, I’m in Belgium as an exchange student — my very first time in Europe! Since everything here feels new and exciting, I’m hoping to travel around and experience as much as I can during my stay.

Hi, my name is Wenbo. I’m originally from China and have been living in Japan for the past 7 years. My life revolves around outdoor sports, cultural exploration, and languages. I’m into surfing, backcountry skiing, and freediving. I'm also a backcountry ski guide and avalanche rescue coach. Recently, together with a Japanese guide(my mentor), I’ve been putting a lot of energy into building a Hokkaido-based guiding community, which has become an important part of my life. Outside of the mountains, I volunteer in local forestry and marine conservation projects, which helps me stay connected to both nature and the local Japanese community. I also play classical guitar — still learning, but I enjoy playing pieces like Lágrimas or Bella Ciao for myself or friends. I speak native Mandarin, fluent Japanese, English, and I’m currently learning Spanish :P I’d describe myself as open-minded, respectful, and curious. I enjoy listening to people’s stories, sharing simple meals, or just walking around a neighborhood and seeing where it leads. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Currently, I’m in a happy and stable relationship built on trust and respect. I’m open to hosting female guests, but I value clear boundaries and a friendly, respectful dynamic. I also make sure my girlfriend is aware in advance. If timing works, I’m sometimes happy to introduce guests to my girlfriend and hang out together — she’s an incredible skier based in Hokkaido, and we often spend time outdoors. We also go out to the sea on our small boat in Otaru, and if everything aligns, you are also welcome to join. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello, my name is Taiki and I'm from Japan. I am currently taking gap years (Oh no it's been 3years now) from university so I decided to travel around. I don't get lost while I travel but I am kind of lost in my life..
I am an enthousiast and lively girl, from France. I grew up in the country side in southern France. I started a job in early 2025 at Hokkaido University, in Sapporo, with my partner. We both plan to stay in Sapporo for about 2 years, before coming back to France. We are learning Japanese, I with lectures from great japanese volunteers (again thank you !) and him by watching anime in Japanese ;) I like sport, and practise regularly Ultimate Frisbee, a team game played with a frisbee instead of a football or rudby ball. It's great ! I also love hiking, camping, being in the nature, picking fruits in the country side (sometime even in my city neighborhood!). I also like painting, cooking and baking :) I think food is a great way to share culture and create new bonds !

I love get knowledge from all the ways possibles and share with the people about my ideology and my way to think, I love literature, history and philosophy in general, read a good book and have a great conversation about all kind of topics with people. I consider myself a animal and nature lover, I love to cook veggie or vegetarian food and learn new dishes ass well, I like sports and im always open to any kind of activities.
I live with dog and rabbit. I like skiing, snowboarding, hiking, traveling. I love traveling a lot. I go abroad more than three times a year. Now I wanna go to Saudi Arabia, Scotland,Madagascar, south Africa,Mexico,Brazil,California (USA ),,,, I can’t wait! Some couchsurfer ask me for my passport copy and ID copy (Japanese don’t have ID though) before we meet. I know you’re worried about meeting new people. But Passport contains important information and Japanese passport are often forged. I don’t wanna give you a passport copy.sorry Of course I don’t ask either. I’ve never asked them for a passport copy. When you make friends, have you ever asked for a passport? I’ve never done that. I just want to believe in people. Of course I can show you my passport and everything you wanna see when we meet 🫣haha
!! Quick note: My profile doesn’t show it but I did host travellers in Paris and Spain, but either using other platforms (mainly Facebook groups) or taking the conversation outside of CS. Everyone is welcome to my place (once I have a place in Japan lol or when I’ll be back in Spain!) ____________ Hey there! I'm Beya, French-Algerian, born and raised in Paris. Nice to meet you :) I had the chance to live in different places. I did an Erasmus in Edinburgh for a year, spent 10 months in Budapest working in youth hostel, worked as teacher in Bethlehem for almost two years and now I've been living in Palma de Mallorca for 4 years... although I ended there by mistake 😅 I've also done a lot of volunteering during these years, mainly in Western Sahara and Italy, with disabled refugee kids. I still have an association that organizes summer camps for these kids in Spain, where they can play and get therapy. I'm a very curious person and my favourite thing in life is learning, especially foreign languages! I speak 5 (French, English, Arabic, Spanish and Italian). I've been learning Japanese, I really hope it could be my sixth language (a big challenge given how difficult it is, but I find it a lot of fun though!). I love hiking or walking in general and spend time outside. But I also love watching a film, reading a book, going to the cinema or just spending time inside.
