🇬🇧 Hi! I’m Fabio, a Swiss-Italian traveler who has been exploring the world with a backpack since July 2024. What I love most about traveling is not collecting countries or taking pictures of famous places. It is meeting people, discovering how they live, sharing a meal, walking through their city, exchanging stories and sometimes creating a genuine connection with someone who was still a stranger a few hours earlier. Over the past two years, my journey has taken me through Europe, Asia, Oceania and many very different ways of life. I have crossed Mongolia, traveled through India and Nepal, lived in spiritual communities, completed meditation retreats, trained as a Hatha Yoga teacher and served in Vipassana centres in Australia and New Zealand. Before this journey, I worked in hospitality management and later became a holistic therapist and coach. I am passionate about human beings, health, spirituality, meaningful conversations and everything that helps us live with more awareness and authenticity. That said, I am not serious all the time! I also love laughing, dancing, hiking, exploring local markets, discovering unusual fruits, sharing good food and having spontaneous adventures. I am independent, clean, respectful and easy to live with. I enjoy spending time with my hosts, but I also understand that everyone has their own rhythm, work and need for personal space. For me, Couchsurfing is not about getting a free place to sleep. It is about meeting people I would probably never have met otherwise and experiencing a place through the eyes of someone who actually lives there. Je m’appelle Fabio, je suis un voyageur suisse et italien, et j’explore le monde avec mon sac à dos depuis juillet 2024. Ce que j’aime le plus dans le voyage, ce n’est pas collectionner les pays ni photographier les lieux célèbres. C’est rencontrer les gens, découvrir leur manière de vivre, partager un repas, marcher dans leur ville, échanger des histoires et parfois créer un lien sincère avec une personne qui, quelques heures auparavant, était encore une inconnue. Au cours de ces deux dernières années, mon voyage m’a conduit à travers l’Europe, l’Asie, l’Océanie et des modes de vie très différents. J’ai traversé la Mongolie, voyagé en Inde et au Népal, vécu dans des communautés spirituelles, effectué plusieurs retraites de méditation, suivi une formation de professeur de Hatha Yoga et servi dans des centres Vipassana en Australie et en Nouvelle-Zélande. Avant ce voyage, j’ai travaillé dans la gestion hôtelière, puis je suis devenu thérapeute holistique et coach. Je suis passionné par l’être humain, la santé, la spiritualité, les conversations profondes et tout ce qui nous aide à vivre avec davantage de conscience et d’authenticité. Cela dit, je ne suis pas sérieux tout le temps ! J’aime aussi rire, danser, randonner, explorer les marchés locaux, découvrir des fruits inhabituels, partager de bons repas et vivre des aventures spontanées. Je suis autonome, propre, respectueux et facile à vivre. J’apprécie de passer du temps avec mes hôtes, tout en comprenant que chacun possède son propre rythme, son travail et son besoin d’espace personnel. Pour moi, Couchsurfing ne consiste pas à trouver un endroit gratuit où dormir. Il s’agit de rencontrer des personnes que je n’aurais probablement jamais croisées autrement et de découvrir un lieu à travers les yeux de quelqu’un qui y vit réellement. I´m a foodie... Love all about food, eating, cooking and sharing the table with people from all around the world. In the middle of my life (who knows?), when my kids started to fly on there own, I took a sabbatical year and travel around the world. I met so many wonderful people, discover countries, learned about different ways of livings . The world is so much better than we see on the news.

I grew up in the Swiss countryside, but I had the great oppurtunities to live in Delhi, Shanghai and in the US, which definitely opened up my eyes on the world. l am now settled back in Switzerland in a small village in between the town of Neuchâtel and Yverdon. Beside traveling, I like trail running, hiking, skiing, sailing, scuba diving, swimming and dancing salsa. Many hobbys to enjoy nature and spending time with friends depending on the season and geography :) Engineer by training, I am currently working in solar energy and more generally passionate by renewable energy and entrepreneurship. I'm a laid-back, easy-going and open-minded person with who you will like sharing a coffee, a hike, a running along the lake or even go for salsa dancing !
