Nature being high on the list. Mountains, fresh water in all its forms and being in or on those environments in a variety of ways from hiking, fishing, mountain biking, white water kayaking so on and so forth. I read a fair bit. Factual adventure type stuff, classic literature, and a bit of fiction. Absolutely love music but pretty much no modern pop thanks. Rock and roll, blues, bluegrass, world music, a mixed bag really. I have two Jack Russell dogs. I live in a 2 bedroom, beautiful old stone house in GORT, Co.Galway, and it is here I have my business as a stone sculptor.....I have a shop/showrooms and workshop. It is about 35km from Galway city with buses arriving hourly from both directions. PHILOSOPHY. Please say the word 'Gort' in your couch request so I know you have read my profile. Thanks. Hard to say really. I love lots about life and living and lots of things make me happy. There is also lots of stuff that pisses me off. I guess as a motto, just try and be good and treat others with respect and dignity. Try not to take shit too seriously and have a laugh along the way.

Carefree and living in the moment. I am a senior consultant engineer based out of Ireland I love to travel, riding my bike, love my crazy solo adventures and football is my sport. Due to various injuries from all the crazy things I have done, I am bionic on my left leg. I love to dance and have recently joined the international community of ecstatic dancers. I am currently on a spiritual journey of learning and unlearning, with the hope of going to South America soon. I do a lot volunteering which is my go to place when I am feeling lost and the most admirable quality that I look for is "Kindness" and "Selflessness". I AM NOT HOSTING CURRENTLY Hello, I originally hail from outside 🇺🇸 Philadelphia, USA, but currently live, (used to study) and work in 🇮🇪 Ireland. I love to travel and am always on ✈️ RyanAir looking for cheap getaways I can do. My friends say if I get 24 hours free, I am gone -- and they are absolutely right! And I don't travel so often just to avoid the rain and grey skies, but to meet people and learn about the world. A few recent things I've dedicated time to: Feb 2020: Teaching myself 🇳🇴 Norwegain (Nyorsk) Feb 2022: Started 🇪🇸 Spanish lessons (still going Feb. 2025) April 2023: Visited ❄️ Svalbard in the Artic Circle August 2024: Grand trip through South America speaking only Spanish (as best as I can) I consider myself I very curious, fun, forgetful, relaxed and forgetful person. I really enjoy chatting to people, whether thats to an old man with a dog in a café, a stranger in the street with a cool jacket or a CouchSurfing host! It may take me a while to wake up in the mornings though! I value learning from others, and experiencing things considered "counter" to cultural, intellectual, sexual, spiritual, etc.. norms from where I am from, how I have lived, or grown to understand. Couchsurfing, in my opinion, is a great way to aid this and personally grow. I enjoy cooking, making new foods and talking, listening to music, reading, and walking around town aimlessly (aka....secretly searching for good beer or wine!). As for my sense of humour...people say I'm like George Michael from Arrested Development -- awkward and really unique to me, but some say I'll laugh at anything under sun, just as long as I'm smiling. Truly though, my humour makes no sense and I will burst out laughing at random non-funny things; I take that to mean I am happy with my life. AS A GUEST IN YOUR HOUSE: I will be tidy by cleaning up after myself after food, sleeping, and showering. I will take a shower every morning. If you require a shower at night too, no problem. I always take my shoes off outside your apartment, then enter. I always follow all rules you ask. I am very quiet and always will ask if you want to join me in my plans, no worries if you do not, I am easy to entertain and can go out on my own if needs be.

I work on climate/energy during the week, and put on parties in town, DJ at clubs and festivals, and run a record label in my spare time. I like movies, books, food...lots of the usual things I guess! :)

I'm a friendly, sociable and down-to-earth person and very experienced CSer. I'm a bit restricted on hosting at present. I recently moved to a setting where there's others, although I am responsible for the place. I love welcoming people but it won't always be possible due to others in the house, as well as a busy lifestyle and being away sometimes myself. Ask me anyway. I live on the east edge of Galway city. ABOUT ME Firstly, I love meeting people since everyone is so unique and I get the privilege of being involved in people's lives. I like to laugh - with people, not at them - life can be so serious but it is also such fun. I love exploring the countryside, forests, mountains, getting lost. I will accept any challenge to a game of pool or snooker. I'm a people person. I'm gay. I have a love/hate relationship with religion, but love Jesus. And I like to find out about places and the people in them. I love hearing about people's journeys and I'm fascinated by how everybody is different and wonderful and yet all needing to learn more and be loved more. And I guess I have a quirky and random sense of humour. PHILOSOPHY There's much true love that's needed in this world, and much that can be given. I hope that I can play my part in passing it on.
