An investment into the future of humanity. It should not be a billion dollar industry called tourism. Hosting in Couchsurfing can also be considered an act of rebellion against tourism. Everyone's mouth these days is full of environmental protection.. what if we look at the environmental impact of tourism.. can it be safe to say that by hosting / using couchsurfing we would use more existing resources (hosting someone in an an existing apartment) and build less tourism dedicated resources, we are actually reducing the environmental impact, thus helping the planet? Are you a traveller or a tourist? I consider myself a citizen of the world. IT guy, but not stereotypical. I like art, cinema in the first place but also theater and books.
