I am very chill, kind, compassionate, quiet yet social, respectful, tolerant. Politically I lean Marxist, spiritually I lean Buddhist. I am a former peace activist and educator. I believe that as a human being, it is my responsibility to act in opposition to oppression and injustice. You must be at least 25 years old to stay at my house. I prefer to host guests who embody the Couchsurfing spirit. I have hosted over 20 guests of various age, gender, and ethnicity, some traveling solo and some with a mate. Almost all have been great guests and wonderful people with whom I have hung out, had great conversations, shared meals, gone to concerts, and learned from. I give my guest(s) my bedroom and I sleep on the couch. Bedroom is on the second floor and bathroom is on the first floor (which can be an issue for some). My house is small but cozy and comfortable, built in 1880, in a great neighborhood called Jamaica Plain that is very LGBTQ+ friendly. It is safe and easily accessible to the city center via public transit. There are cafes and restaurants close by as well as lots of green space. I worked most of my life in the education field, primarily doing research. I am now training to become a peer addiction recovery coach and I work part-time in the field. I am humble and grateful. I practice service to others, including as a foster parent of an 18-year-old Dominican boy. I am a member of a local peer recovery support center (I am sober) where I facilitate a weekly Buddhist addiction recovery meeting.

CURRENT MISSION **be happy** still working on the ways to achieve it ABOUT ME Hi all, I have been living in Boston for the past ~12 years, and for the past 6-7 years have been running a research laboratory as a professor at Harvard Medical School. My research work is mainly focused on trying to figure out the unknowns of how our hearing works and how to fix it when it doesn't. I am certainly working more than I should, which worries me a bit. To change that, I have joined this network of amazing people in a hope to do more interesting things in my life, and meet new people. I have high hopes and somewhat ambitious travel plans for the nearest future. If asked my friends, they would say that I am fairly smart in my own way, easy going, hospitable, like to have fun and sometimes boring (so, please stop me if I am :) PHILOSOPHY Do your best everywhere! Originally from Italy and now living in Boston, I work at MIT Sloan and have a passion for travel, meaningful conversations, and discovering places through the eyes of locals. I’ve lived in Verona, Padova, Budapest, Manhattan, Chicago, and now Boston. I’ve traveled extensively across Europe and the United States, as well as Japan, Argentina, Australia, Mexico, Canada, and, most recently, Vietnam. I can't host, I'm traveling. First and foremost, I'm a single mother. Born in Laos came to the States in my teen-ish. I've lived in Boston for over 30 years but don't really have an address as of now. I want to travel as much as I can while I'm still alive!
