CURRENT MISSION Update 2026 : Am not active here but find me in my IG : khalid_naitzehou Trying to see the world just as grandpa 'Ibn Battuta' did. ABOUT ME Someone said about me : ( was written circa 2009 before chatgpt ) What is cute in your face is that you still have a smile of a small boy and dimples in your cheeks which make you look innocent and truthful, a bit naive perhaps... You look really friendly and likable when you smile. There a lot of honesty in your eyes, but also something enigmatic that can be classified. It seems like a part of you that still a boy and a part that already a man. You yourself do know where the border between the two is... When one looks at your face, they see a person who able to handle great things - you seem to have strong personality and act like an individualist on some occasions. But what makes you special is that the moment people see your smile they want to give you a Bear hug. (Let us Complain less and give more!) NEVER AGAIN:In the Train from Suceava to Cluj. The 14th century Arab traveler Ibn Battuta is buried in Fez. -Adventures will start Tomorrow ( 07/07/2009) Hard Mission (30/08/09) PHILOSOPHY -life is how u make it. -The eye of a human being is a microscope, which makes the world seem bigger than it really is.;-) -Sleep and do not let others to sleep. -Don't eat all what you have. -Tea should be bitter as death, sweet as life, and as mellow as love.
Hello! We are a family of four living in Los Angeles. With the belief that “Travel Is the Best Education,” I design learning experiences that help Gen Alpha children expand their curiosity, learning, and talents through real-world travel. Our family practices homeschooling and travelschooling, where the world itself becomes our classroom. We live a travel-centered life with our two very friendly and active kids — Boy (9) and Girl (6). They love meeting new people, asking questions, and playing with travelers from around the world. The idea behind their names is simple: “The Earth Is Our Playground.” We named them with the hope that they would see the world as a place to explore freely, joyfully, and curiously — not something to fear or feel limited by. And just as their names suggest, they are growing up exactly that way. Through homeschooling and travelschooling, our children learn from real-life experiences, conversations, and cultural exchanges. Meeting people from different countries, hearing their stories, and sharing everyday life together helps them understand the world in a very natural way. That’s why Couchsurfing means so much to us. Hosting travelers allows our kids to learn about cultures, languages, and perspectives that they can’t always find in textbooks. We love welcoming guests who enjoy storytelling, cultural exchange, food, and meaningful conversations. Our kids are open, curious, and always happy to chat, play, and learn from our guests. We live in an exciting loft in Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA). Our place is about 5 minutes from Union Station by bus, and the bus stop is right in front of our building. You can also easily walk to a 7-Eleven, fast food restaurants, bars, and local spots.
I’m Aaron. I live in Playa del Rey, Los Angeles — my front yard is basically the beach. If you walk 15 seconds, you’re on the sand. I started hosting in 2010 in New York City, where I quickly became one of the most active Couchsurfing hosts in Manhattan. Over the years I’ve welcomed almost 500 travelers — almost always one at a time, which meant I really got to know people. Some surfers returned to stay with me 6–7 times. Others I’ve met again years later while traveling abroad. Hosting has been one of the biggest adventures of my life, filled with stories, friendships, and a lot of laughter. I’m easygoing, love hearing people’s stories, and enjoy a mix of hanging out and giving guests space to do their own thing. What I’m Into Music and fun: I owned a bar and live music venue in Nashville, wrote some songs, and I still love going out to see live music. If the timing’s right, I often take surfers to a show. Entrepreneurship: I’ve worked in real estate in New York, owned a bar and restaurant, and ran a travel events company. Now I’m building a new startup (for travelers, of course signup above ) and working on my MBA. Outdoors: I love biking the coast from Venice down to Redondo, hiking the Hollywood sign, and spending time at the beach with my son. Santa Monica Pier is a favorite for people-watching. Theme parks: I’ve got a Universal Studios annual pass and sometimes go with my son. If you’re heading there and already have a ticket, I’ll join. My Home I live in a three-bedroom (guests have their own room) in Playa del Rey. It’s a quiet little beach town with coffee shops, bars, and restaurants, but the real highlight is just walking along the ocean bike path. 9 minutes from LAX. Bus stop 30 seconds away (easy ride to Santa Monica, Culver City, Venice). From Culver City you can grab the train downtown. No smoking in the yard or the house, but the beach is right there. I used to have a dog — if you have a quiet one, I’m open to it. Hosting Style Think of me as your local brother, fellow traveler, and sometimes tour guide. I’ve had every kind of guest you can imagine, and I’m still here because I love meeting new people. I introduce people to others, to friends and I will try to join other CS events with you like taco Tuesday, karaoke, any party happening or the beach bonfire we have which is just down the beach from me. I don’t party much in LA anymore and hardly drink, but if you’re looking to go out, I like to spend time with my guests when I can. In Short I’ve “seen it all” through Couchsurfing — hundreds of surfers, countless adventures, and lifelong friendships. Come with good vibes, enjoy the beach, and we’ll get along great. My photos on here are mostly all very old 2010-2014, my ex-wife is on here as well in her own section. We used to host together, and though it looks like I party a lot, I do not anymore. I almost never drink (1 max) and have more of a busy, chill vibe right now. But if you want to let loose, awesome. It is your trip, I am just here to make it the best it can be. my ex wife old profile (SHE IS NOT active on here anymore, but some of my references are there with her, we hosted about 75 people together) https://www.couchsurfing.org/people/juliane.l/

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING 😂 FIRST, California native here—open-minded, culturally curious, and community-oriented. I don’t align with the current presidential administration, and I value inclusivity, creativity, and respect for different ways of living and thinking. California has its own spirit, and I’m always happy to connect with travelers who appreciate culture, conversation, and mutual respect. My name's Lake. I grew up in LA, and my family is from LA and Santa Barbara. I spent my childhood all over California. There's nothing more that I love doing than showing people the beauty of California. I frequently take trips up and down the coast, and I know all of the towns very well. I know where all the best restaurants are (vegan and vegetarian too), where the best shopping is, the best hiking locations, and which beaches are the nicest to visit. I love to cook! I prepare a majority of my meals at home with fresh, organic ingredients. I also curate a weekly art and music event in Hollywood. @technonightmarket I think that Couchsurfing is the greatest app ever created!! I'm very eager to gain new, long-lasting, international friendships. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• • When visiting America, there are A LOT of states you can avoid. Places like Texas are awful. There isn't much to do at all. Pretty much just skip every state except for California, Oregon, Hawaii, and New York •If you're coming to LA to date, or use dating apps, stay in a hostel or hotel, or Airbnb. Couchsurfing isn't just a free place to stay. •Do not use Turo to rent a car. They are the worst company and charge so much extra money. It's easier and less expensive to use Uber to rent a car. •Please make sure you have all of your visa stuff and papers, etc, sorted out before you arrive. LAX is notorious for holding travelers and sending them back to their country of origin. I have had at least 5 couch surfers sent home. • IF YOU'RE VISITING LA, MAKE SURE YOU'RE ACTUALLY STAYING IN LA! 🤣 Some locations are 1-2 hours away from literally anything. You will be stuck somewhere with nothing to do or see. Or, you'll have to travel 3+ hours by public transportation. 😢 Also, some areas are not nice at all, like Downtown LA, Hollywood, Koreatown, and the neighborhoods to the south. I've spent my whole life here. Trust me. • Research your host! I can not stress this enough. There are a lot of strange people in LA, especially those abusing Couchsurfing! (shirtless photos, little to no references, "nudists") • If your host doesn't have a car or is working the entire time you are staying with them, THEY ARE NOT A HOST. Keep that in mind. • Go easy on the American food, seriously. Unless you are okay with gaining 15 kilos while you're here. •If you plan on driving here, BE DEFENSIVE! In an area with 18 million people, a lot of them are awful drivers. Read a driver's education manual online. LA drivers are aggressive, and you need to know what you are doing. • Skip Long Beach. I'm not sure why so many people want to go there. 😂 There is absolutely nothing to do other than drink at a bar and look at boats. • ALWAYS have a backup plan for Couchsurfing. DO NOT entirely rely on CS for your trip to LA. You will risk being stranded. I have rescued plenty of travelers. Hostels in LA can be pretty expensive. 😱 • LA Traffic is REAL!! Try to avoid local freeways such as 101, 405, 10, and major streets like Santa Monica Blvd between 4 pm and 7 pm. 😫 • Alcohol is not sold or served after 2am in CA.😠 • Tipping is mandatory anywhere where you are served food or drinks by a person. Doubling the tax is the easiest way to calculate the tip. I know you don't like the tip culture here, but you're not going to change the rules. 😉 • Yes, Cannabis is legal. You must be 21+ to purchase it. 😻 • Check the weather. Yes, it's California, but we still have our share of inclement weather! A rainy day can really ruin your plans. 😕 • Buy a SIM card. Not having communication or the internet will jeopardize your trip. But, buy a SIM card OUTSIDE of LAX. 😌 • The best grocery stores available are Sprouts and Trader Joe's! They have amazing pre-made salads, sandwiches, wraps, etc. for less than $5 if you're on a tight budget. Sprouts sometimes has full, fresh meals for less than $6!! 🤤 •Santa Monica Beach and Venice Beach are honestly quite filthy, especially if you plan in swimming. Venice is overrun by the homeless. The cleanest, nicest beaches are South of LAX or in Malibu. Manhattan Beach is my favorite! 😍 • The best location to easily see the Hollywood Sign is by visiting Lake Hollywood Dog Park. 🤯 ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Here is my master list of the best and most popular things to do and see here. Currently in the process of getting an apartment. I will be living by Koreatown (Safe area between downtown and Hollywood). I am happy to host multiple people. If there is space, you are welcome to share the hotel room with me. You get treated like a king when you stay with me :). Free breakfast, free drinks, great Hilton Diamond perks. I can only invite up to 3 lucky individuals and all I ask in return is to be interactive, fun, open, and be ready to share tons of stories. I CAN NOT STAND FREE LOADERS! Out going, smart, a dork and a people person. I live up my values in life and as a human being. I truly take responsibility for my mistakes and I believe apologizing is a a strong person quality. I'm a chef. I love food. I don't like going to the gym, but will welcome a glass of wine and pasta 😁 LOVE motorcycles, boats, planes and learning new languages and I'm here to find a place to stay when I visit, not a partner.
Hi, I'm Kyle I recently moved to New Orleans from California to support my mother. However, we moved her to Tennessee for health reasons, so I have plenty of space and time to host CS-ers. I have two couches in the living area and a decent kitchen to use. We're in Mid-City, which allows you to move about different parts of NOLA easily (hence the name). I am vegan, but feel free to cook what you like - there is a large grocery store about 4 blocks away. I will take any requests, but on a first-come first-serve basis. Thanks!
