Hey yo I'm Georgie from Naarm (melbourne) 30 years old, an artist and an art teacher. I'm traveling around big bad OZ with my partner Isaac (Catalan, doco maker, 35) and our black scraggy kelpie, Kalu (dog, 5). (georgiemattingley.net) People say my art is shocking, but ho hum, life is shocking, our world is being destroyed, I'm just trying to make the harsh truth look pretty for the sake of sparking thought, feeling or conversation. I LOVE to travel, but have very little interest in tourist attractions. I travel to meet people and learn about them and their life. That's why couch surfing has become a favourite past time.

我为什么使用Couchsurfing
I've been couchsurfing and hosting since 2009 and it's brought so many amazing people into my life. I've met life long friends and also my partner Isaac. When I stay with people I like to adapt and become a part of my host's lifestyle and culture. I think that it beats any hostel experience offered anywhere in the world. And hosting keeps my house alive, I love having people coming and going.

favourite books are clockwork orange, lolita, shantaram, etc. However, I have this really bad habit of judging a book by its cover, and so I need you to give me suggestions of what to read next. I love sharing books and talking literature. With music - this is another thing I love to share and swap with couch surfers. I love music from around the world - in particular west africa and i go mad for bollywood some of my favourite artists are Santiago Sierra, Wim Delvoye, Caravaggio, Paul McCarthy, Thukral & Tagra and Frida Kahlo

throwing custard cream donuts at people from the roof of my local bakery. squatting a 5 bedder apartment above Kings Cross Station in London. surfed with my dad. watched a goat give birth to twins in the sahara desert. vomited into a bin at Shepparton Plaza once. did a shit in every colour of the rainbow by drinking fluoro barium.
