CURRENT MISSION To transcend. ABOUT ME I was once a farm girl in tall grass with horses, chickens, sheep and an iguana. Now I'm struggling to become something in the city. I've tried a lot of jobs over the years, including stablehand, office assistant, waitress, and film production assistant. Really I want to be a writer, and to get to know the world intimately. I like magic realism in books and movies... the Spaniards and Swedes seem to be particularly good at it. Just finished "Popular Music from Vittula" and am currently reading "Wilderness and the American Mind," as well as the autobiographies of Harpo and Groucho Marx. In movies you see that style in, for instance, "Pan's Labyrinth." I'm pretty open-minded about movies; I can enjoy any genre high or low as long as it follows its own rules and keeps me rapt. Musically I am all across the spectrum, with old timey country/ bluegrass high on the list. Big fan of Gogol Bordello, Beirut, and most of the music they play on KCRW.
