A time I was moving to a new city, I have been hosted by a very nice person who came out to become a very good friend and who made me meet another person who became my roommate. Another time, my host had a friend who was a journalist. He took the occasion of me being there to make interviews and write an article about couchsurfing in the regional newspaper : "the altruist wave of CouchSurfing" http://www.lecourrierdelamayenne.fr/actualite-4563-la-vague-altruiste-du-couchsurfing.html (unfortunately in French.
