Instagram: @miss.thomas.travels I'm a teacher working in an international school in Saudi, specialising in teaching students with disabilities. I’m in a long distance relationship with my partner back in Aus. I am tolerant, progressive minded, get along with most people, and I enjoy meeting people from all backgrounds and walks of life. I’m very organised, clean, type A if you will… every now and then I push myself to be more spontaneous or less organised, just to keep myself on my toes ! I like to connect and explore culture through dining experiences, whether fine dining, home cooking, local haunts, street foods.... also love cultural experiences or seeing a place through local eyes. I love finding beauty in the world around me. I grew up in the country but spent 10 years living in Melbourne (AU). I like to think that I feel equally at home in the middle of nowhere or a bustling city. I still absolutely love the outdoors, and find that being in the beauty of nature is the best nutrition for my soul.

我为什么使用Couchsurfing
Over the past 2 years I’ve done a lot of travel. I am blessed I can afford to stay in nice hotels, and do everything independently. However, I’m finding some of my experiences (though still so nice) have been a bit shallow. Go here, stay here, see these hotspots, eat at these places. I am kind of sick of my trips being dictated by blogs and social media. In my early 20s my couchsurfing experiences introduced me to the most welcoming, kind hearted, like minded people... but it was different, I was CS to keep my budget minimal (nothing wrong with that!). Now in my 30s, I feel the desire to reconnect to this project. My hope is to find genuine connections, hear local history from local people, and have more authentic travel experiences. I may be more keen for meet ups with locals wanting to show me their home than stays. If you are hosting me, these days I’d require a private space, and no smoking indoors please 😮💨.
我做过的一件令人惊叹的事
I have road tripped around California. Trekking and exploring in Bhutan was amazing. In 2022 I lived and taught in a remote Aboriginal community in the Daintree Rainforest.
教学、学习、分享
Being an actual teacher, I’d say I’m pretty patient. Happy to help people that are learning English, as well as share yummy recipes and good food. I’m going to attempt to learn some Arabic this year but I am actually shockingly bad at learning languages. I blame it on the big weekends of my 20s 🫠
我能与房东分享的
I love to share the cooking or a bottle of wine with hosts. I am definitely not looking to take advantage and happy to contribute.
