HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I'm still a newbie having just surfed once. Looking to participate by hosting for a stretch...then who knows! COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE My first time was via my couch surfing friends who found us a wonderful host in La Serena, Chile. Prior to this I had no idea what to expect. Now: I'm hooked.

I read a lot, mostly fiction. I just finished the first Hunger Games book and continue to work through Murakami's 1Q84, though I'm thinking of cheating on it again with a shorter, sexier novel. I'll watch almost any movie once, but my preference is Woody Allen, the Coen Brothers, or Wes Anderson flicks. I'm really into Parks and Rec and also dig Community, Modern Family, Mad Men and Dexter. Also, The Walking Dead, but not because it's terrific, but because Robert Kirkman wrote it. You can also catch me watching Peep Show, The League or Breaking Bad. My preference for food is local, but I'll eat almost anything. Improvisational cooking is my specialty. I'm a new music junkie but some of my stand out favorites are the Black Keys and Gogol Bordello. In rotation lately: Vitalic, Sbtrkt, Friendly Fires, WHB, Starfucker, Mocean Worker, Neon Indian, Washed Out, Crystal Castles, The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, Lana Del Rey, and Rhye. I listen to a ton of radio and podcasts. Nothing beats a fresh new episode of Radio Lab or this American Life. I also like the Moth, Freakonomics, and MBMBAM.
