CURRENT MISSION Be a good listener. Interrogate my own assumptions. Meditate. Care and be curious. Finish this book of stories. ABOUT ME Just finished an MFA in fiction at the University of Oregon. Now I'm traveling, writing, going to residencies, and trying to figure out how to make stories in a dark time. I'm an occasionally-devoted Buddhist. I care about listening and asking questions. I hope to cultivate humor, warmth, and integrity in this life. PHILOSOPHY Revel in the fact that there's always more to learn about yourself and others. So vast an ocean, and my boat is so small. Love specific people, and keep loving them, and tell them, and tell them again. I don't think there is anything more important.

Jones. I'm also a big fan of haiku.

I can talk about fiction/narrative all day. I also know a few things about Japanese aesthetics, continental philosophy, and Zen Buddhism. But honestly I try to listen more than teach, because my knowledge is often shallow.
