CURRENT MISSION I'm taking time off from my "real life" to travel the world. I have a lot to do before I get old... ABOUT ME I have decided to spend some time collecting *experiences* rather than *things*. I dropped out of the corporate world 6 years ago, sold my home, and moved from a lifetime spent in Wisconsin to Texas. PHILOSOPHY Actions speak much louder than words. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE Had a great time at an Amsterdam meetup! By meeting other Couchsurfers, we were clued in to places to go and things to do that we would have never learned through a guidebook or website. They drank with us, chatted with us, and made us feel very welcome in their city. One great guy even rode me around on the back of his bike between pubs one night, and two others attended our "wedding-for-a-night" during Museumnacht! We've hosted a band from the Midwest who was on tour, an Obama volunteer who was here working the Texas Primary, and a great guy from Germany who cooked us the best dinner ever! Our first time surfing was in Alaska with a most wonderful host who let us spend a night in her cabin in the woods... complete with outhouse and a visiting moose!

Went parasailing over the western coast of Mexico Got lost walking in circles for hours at 3am in Amsterdam Met and spoke with President Barack Obama Flew the equivalent of 6 times around the planet Slept in a palapa hut in the rain Shot monkeys in the jungle of Costa Rica (again, with a camera, not a gun!) Hugged a shark Gave birth to a little boy who is now all grown up
