Currently living and working in Traverse City, MI, USA. Will be travelling through Japan, South Korea and Taiwan in November/December 2023. Then heading out to French Polynesia and the Pacific islands in January-May 2024 to continue learning French, gain more sailing experience, and find volunteering projects.

I was also a former host in Amsterdam and couchsurfed a lot in my 20's, although I haven’t done it myself in a few years. If I'm on the road alone I try to get in touch with members, mainly for advice and the insider's perspective. I always look to couchsurfing when I’m searching for permanent accommodation too. Seems to be a very trustworthy community.

In Vietnam I saw an old married couple tending the rice paddies. They were 90 and 91 years old, and they were holding hands. They had worked every day, doing the same thing, from sun up to sun down, without ever taking a day off, for more than 80 years. They were happier than I'll ever be!
