This one winter my parents and I were road-tripping up Big Sur and were camping out for a couple days. We decided to hike one of the mountains in Pfeiffer State Park. A few months earlier they had a big forest fire. Some of the tree were still burnt and others were hollowed out with burning all along the inside, but not out. There were also all these baby ferns and redwood trees that covered the pathway and everything was so green and lush, you could just feel the life emanating from all of it. It was absolutely incredible.
