Travelling central/south America (at least) until July 2026 so cannot host or meet up in Europe 🫶🏼 Hey, I’m Anna! I'm originally from Finland, but have been shaped by many cultures. I’m endlessly curious about what makes us who we are. I’ve worn many masks across different chapters: writer, wanderer, listener, host. I’m most at home in the in-between spaces, airports at midnight and local buses, long conversations with strangers, kitchens that smell like someone’s childhood. I'm a cultural psychologist by education, fascinated by people and cultures and sharing stories - finding what connects us rather that focusing on what divides us (which, let's face it, we need more than ever). I love learning how others see the world, what they’ve survived, what they still hope for. I believe in the magic of sharing meals and mismatched worldviews, and that a good cup of coffee can fix a lot more than it gets credit for. When I travel, I’m curious and open and try to immerse myself in a culture as much as possible. I love sharing a meal, playing with the kids on the street, and leaving handwritten notes behind. When I host, I treat guests like I treat my friends. Mostly, I believe life is too strange and too short not to share the ride.

我为什么使用Couchsurfing
Because I believe in the power of human connection. Couchsurfing, to me, isn’t about free accommodation — it’s about crossing paths with people I never would have otherwise met. It’s about shared breakfasts, mixed accents, and the magic of feeling at home in a stranger’s home. I want to understand how people live, what they love, what their daily rituals look like — the things no guidebook or websites tells you about. And when I host, I try to offer that same window into my world: a warm place to rest, an honest conversation, maybe a glimpse of the North. The world feels a little less divided when we open our doors to each other.
音乐、电影与书籍
I like reading fiction and nonfiction simultaneously (feeds the brain and the soul). I listen to everything from jazz and blues and rnb to progressive rock and electronica and classical. I watch less movies these days but used to work behind the camera once upon a time :)
我做过的一件令人惊叹的事
There’s lots of stories! Took a tuktuk in Cambodia and ended up at the tuktuk driver’s cousin’s wedding, hiked active volcanoes barefoot, built festivals in castles, got invited by a stranger to celebrate Easter (semana santa) with a huge Salvadorian family in a little village in the middle of nowhere. Let’s share more in person!
教学、学习、分享
I’m fascinated by the brain and human behaviour so I’m happy to talk about how to rewire your brain, or sharing recipes and meals! I’m sure we’ll find more skills to share through chatting.

Weird facts about the nordics (especially the Finns, we’re strange people), meals (I love to cook) terrible jokes and a few good stories. Language and culture exchange!
