Ultimately to network and meet interesting people. Exchange ideas and broaden horizons, you never know what sort of message is hidden within random situations when meeting someone new.

A few of my favorite books include The Alchemist, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, The Celestine Prophecy, The Four Agreements, White Oleander.... the list goes on and on. As far as music is concerned, I don't discriminate. I'm in to just about anything, mainly influenced by my mood. Jazz, dub, R&B, hip hop, house, oldies, etc. Always open to suggestions and enjoy being introduced to new albums.
