I often travel by myself and when I do, I use couchsurfing because it allows flexibility, which matches my sense of improvisation when backpacking :) Moreover, I find that the best way to visit a place is by being with locals and couchsurfing is a great way to meet people who are often of good advice and company ;) Most importantly, I love being around different people and getting to know them - this is the central part of my traveling experiences and since I am very easy to get along with, couchsurfing is the perfect option :) Depending on the trip, I can use couchsurfing to find an accommodation or just to spend time with people during the day!

Sleeping in a tent on a pink sand beach in Oman and waking up in the middle of baby turtles, take a swim in turquoise water first thing in the morning; Being invited to a bedouin wedding in Jordan; Being on a train for 4 days in China (I LOVE TRAINS :)) and becoming best friend with a 4 year old; Camping by myself in the middle of the Wahiba desert in Oman; Going on a 56 hours one-way trip with multiple layovers cause it was cheaper and I love airports; Learning how to cook traditional meals with locals in multiple places - food brings people together! :) Living on a secluded island in Laos for a month and teaching English to local kids Being an exchange student in the US when I was 17 (that's when it all started ;)).
