Over the years, I have lived in all regions of the United States. I Have resided in Oregon for the past 13 years. I currently work full time as a Cardiac Sonographer but have taken “breaks” in the past to travel. I spent 1 1/2 years backpacking across Asia and another 1 1/2 years to travel across the U.S. I also volunteer for medical missions to developing countries in need of pediatric cardiology programs. I am also an artist and find inspiration through travel and exposure to other cultures.

I would like to continue to explore the world and feel like couch surfing is a way to be immediately immersed in the local culture. Having a personal connection gives travel more meaning and provides opportunities to gain in depth knowledge of a new place as well as potential for lasting friendships. I am also looking for ways to make travel “budget friendly” so that I can travel more.

I read mostly nonfiction as I like to learn but throw in a novel here and there. Classic rock is what I grew up on but folk, jazz and blues also find there way on to my playlists.
