Originally from the UK, but have lived in Melbourne for the past 19 years. It's my first time using this site, although I have surfed many a couch on my travels. I've recently quit my job, booked a one way ticket, and I'm planning to travel for 5-6 months this year before moving to the UK. I'm leaving in April for the States (LA, Austin and New Orleans at this stage), Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba and then over to Europe. Hope to meet a few of you along the way. As a couch surfer- I'm pretty easy going and respectful, and my cooking skills are constantly improving (especially veggie curries). I'm up for hanging out, but happy to do my own thing too. I'm in Melbourne until April 13th, so if anyone is in Melbourne, and needs a tour guide/wants to meet for a drink, I'd be happy to oblige. I can't currently host, but hope to in the future!

The best experiences I've had whilst travelling have always been with locals. I'm looking forward to steering off the tourist track occasionally, and having a break from the hostel lifestyle. It can be exhausting and a bit samey at times! I really enjoy meeting new people, and learning about different cultures and ways of living.

Recently swam with some whale sharks and bioluminescent plankton (not at the same time). I highly recommend both.

Always up for sharing a laugh, a meal, a beer, stories, music and general good times. Very happy to share knowledge of my hometown Melbourne. I'm hoping to learn some local knowledge in each place I stop. If anyone would like to do some Spanish /English language exchange, I'd be keen for that too!
