I am a happily married homeschool mom of one11 year old daughter who is passionate about ballet, running and life. My daughter and I love to travel, but my husband prefers to stay home and keep an eye on our old wooden boat. Kate and I can easily share a bed, even a twin. We are considerate guests who do not expect to be entertained, clean up after ourselves, and are happy exploring both the natural and the man-made; we enjoy the wilderness and the city.

我为什么使用Couchsurfing
We homeschool and are free to travel during the winter months when we are not tendering salmon. I think the best way to get to know a place is by getting to know the locals. I am not a touristy type and I want Kate to get a real feel for the culture of a place and the people's daily lives. While we are happy to be independent, we would love to have you show off your favorite places too. I have traveled a lot (I lived on a sail boat for 11 years) and have been gifted many showers, use of laundry facilities, meals and rides. I am happy to give back.

We do enjoy watching documentaries and movies, but we do not enjoy channel surfing through the popular culture of violence and consumerism. We love to read and much of Kate's education is literature based. We like uplifting, inspiring arts that encourage us to think and to grow.

My daughter and I raised money to install a water filtration system at a school in a small village in Thailand where one of our friends grew up. We traveled there for its installation.
