Hey👋🏻 I'm Ellie 😊 26 y/o German University student and freelancer and journalist. I have spent the last couple of years, fighting tooth and nail for my husband Shak and me to get married in the first place and go back home to Germany. Since he is from Botswana, where we lived for 3 years, that was a rocky road. Since March 2022, we finally made it to Europe and live here for now. Other than smashing the patriarchy, we usually chill a lot, we are quiet, easy-going people. Shak is shy, I am not, which creates a great balance for hanging out. We usually don't bother people much unless there is an invitation to do so😊 We are both mostly vegans, but we have the decency to not judge or comment on other people's life decisions.

I have already learned so much and met so many different people, yet I know nothing about you and your life. There is still so much to learn and it basically never ends. Couchsurfing is also an active fight against capitalism, which I love from the bottom of my heart.

Music: When I feel your soul and it touches mine, I will enjoy your music, no matter the genre. But I also like indie, alternative and punk because that is usually what I can recreate with my own voice. Books: everything by bell hooks. Movies: Have seen many and I can appreciate many different genres as well. I like good cinematography and soundtracks a lot. I'm kinda tired of seeing conventionally beautiful bodies on screen. I wanna see real bodies. I wanna see big bodies, disabled bodies, queer bodies, different bodies. And that in main character roles, not just as the bad guys.

I have met the love of my life on the other side of the world and I fall deeper in love everyday, even after years together in the tiniest spaces, thats pretty amazing. Update: we got married and are still happy together 🥰

I know a lot about intersectional Feminism, the patriarchy and all its forms of oppression (as well as the European visa system), I'm an educator in that field. Also, veganism and the ethics of oppression. Then different countries and their conflicts and histories. I have extensive knowledge about Harry Potter because I'm a nerd👓(fuck J.K.Rowling tho).

Im very interested in social studies, especially examining the systems we are in and how it is all connected. Apart from that I'm spiritual, I love music, singing and dancing as it is quite liberating.
