I'm originally from Algeria and currently living in Roanoke, Virginia, where I'm completing a dental residency. My days are usually packed with patients, charts, and hospital life, so whenever I get a few days off, I trade my scrubs for a backpack and head somewhere new. I love road trips, getting lost in unfamiliar places, and meeting people whose lives are completely different from mine. Some of my favorite travel memories come from conversations around a dinner table, a campfire, or a cup of coffee rather than from famous landmarks. Music is a big part of my life. I am learning the oud, Algerian mandole, violin, and banjo, an unusual combination that somehow tells the story of where I come from and where I've been. I'm also a big soccer fan, enjoy cooking, reading, hiking, and learning about different cultures and traditions. As a guest, I'm respectful, clean, easygoing, and genuinely curious about people. As a host or travel companion, I can offer good conversation, stories from Algeria, questionable jokes, and occasionally a homemade Algerian meal. For me, Couchsurfing isn't just about finding a place to sleep. It's about sharing experiences, building friendships across cultures, and collecting stories that stay with you long after the trip ends.
