I'm an outgoing and kind person. I am participatory where I live and not wrapped around my cell phone or technology. I enjoy dialogue and people who have a passion for life. Gardening and music are two of my skills. I exercise daily and love to cook. I would describe myself as a progressive politically. HIking and swimming are foundational for me.

I was offered a job in Sacramento but blew a head gasket in my car last month. I am looking for a place to live temporarily before my first check comes in. I also need to travel to Albuquerque, NM in October and look forward to being part of the couchsurfing community there. I'm a creative spirit looking to connect with other creative people.

Music interest is widespread. I don't like misogynistic or violent lyrics. I play native American flute myself. I was born in 1958 so I came up through all of the great rock and roll of the 60s and 70s. Jazz, blues and bluegrass are part of my lexicon. I garden more than read these days, although I write a lot myself on the linkage between ecology and public health. My 30 year career as a teacher has made me a public health advocate.

I lived out for 6 months in a shelter I built in the woods of Cambria, Ca. in 1986. I had a job as a pizza cook, swam every day in the ocean and got to a much deeper place in my life. I camped a lot as a teenager in Boy Scouts and wanted to try the long term version.

I share my gardening and cooking skills quite often. The biggest share is actually being present and authentic with people in your life. I would bring that quality to any house I was in. I am a good listener and bring positive energy. Humor and levity are part of my character.
