Hello, I am Jakob. I moved to central Copenhagen recently to pursue my career as a financial lawyer for a pension fund. Previously, I lived elsewhere in Denmark working for a bank. And before that, I spent 5 years in Thailand living and working as a lawyer in the bustling metropolitan capital Bangkok. Before moving to Asia, I spent most of my student life in Denmark but I was fortunate to be able to travel a lot during those years. Mostly, I traveled to the Caribbean and Asia. I started to travel independently since before studying and then I had a chance to live for a while in Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago. One of my greatest passions are traveling. I have been traveling in over 50 countries on 5 continents so far. Another great passion is sport: I try to go to the gym daily and I am always up for any kind of game with a ball :-) I have always had a great desire to learn new things - a very good reason in itself to be couchsurfing.

I love traveling and meeting people from all over the world and thus learning about different countries, cultures and people.

I like many kinds of different music but am mostly into house and chillout etc. About movies, I prefer thrillers, crime, action, comedies and some dramas. I´m not that much into horror and fantasy. My favourite movies are The Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump. My favourite books are by Frank McCourt and Ildefonso Falcones. I love to read about history, geography, science, nature, astronomy, philosophy and - of course - law.

I moved to Thailand after completing my master degree. When I moved there, I knew only one person and now I have a huge network of friends and acquaintances not only in Thailand but all over Southeast Asia.

I am totally new on couchsurfing but friends have recommended me to use it. In the beginning, I will offer my lovely home to guests. Then, I would like to try staying with hosts as well.
