I'm Kai. I come from the classic US state of California. I've currently been taking a bunch of gap years where I work a few months doing trash jobs to make enough money to go travelling. One could say I've thoroughly been infected by the travel bug and now I'm addicted to the thrills that come with travelling, sharing cultures and engaging new experiences. To this end, Couchsurfing has been very helpful giving me fond memories and creating friendships, which is why I want to continue using it.

Originally I was nervous to use Couchsurfing but it's turned a lot of possibly mediocre trips to unforgettable ones. Since I mostly travel alone, Couchsurfing is great for me to make friends and eat away at the all consuming loneliness of a cold unfeeling world 😉 To me, it makes a big difference to meet a local so you can go beyond the normal tourist sights. After using Couchsurfing a bunch while traveling, I started hosting people as well and that's turned out great too, even allowing me tosee parts of my city I've never seen before.
