I came to Mexico after living in San Francisco for 6 months and expect to live here for the next 2 or 3 years or so. I like English teaching as it gives me the opportunity to travel and experience new cultures almost anywhere in the world. When I travel I like to stay in one place for a while and take the time to get to the know the place and the people.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING At the moment I can't host because I don't have any space but I move around a lot so probably in the future I will have a space I can share. I am hoping to be an amiable and enjoyable guest. :)

Books: Haruki Murakami, Kipling, Steinbeck, Catch 22, DH Lawrence, the Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. I haven't been reading much this year as travelling stops me from buying books, but I love to read and have read a lot. I hate Kerouac, but if you like On The Road I will enjoy arguing with you about it. I usually give away my books when I'm finished with them. In San Francisco I went to the Fullsome Street Festival. For one day a year they close down a main street and it turns into a sex fetish celebration. There are no inhibitions. It was pretty mind boggling.

Of course I love to travel. I've been practicing yoga for about 8 months, I've loved to read for as long as I can remember. I enjoy cooking and like to cook for friends. I love being outdoors, especially when it involves swimming at the beach but I also go hiking whenever I get the chance. Since moving to Tuxtla I've taken up salsa dancing. I'm very interested in the history of Mexico and want to see as many historical sites as I can while I'm here.
