I am writing for the Earth. Why? I am a recently graduated biochemist who is eager to work in the field with plants and animals, since my focus has shifted to supporting public lands directly rather than the medical application of biochemistry. Being highly focused, detail-oriented, ability to learn new technologies quickly, and aptitude for thoroughness will greatly contribute in addressing the global environment today. And this is who I am. I am deeply immersed in how life works on the molecular level as well as spiritual. I'm in charge of planning my own experiments and maintaing the order of earth stewardship and water conservancy. In my experience as a zip-line tour guide in Hawaii, I know how difficult fear is to navigate, but it can be done. It requires both objective follow-through, and the partnership of the mind and the turbulent heart. My favorite places are: Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Humboldt- Toiyabe National Forest, even during times of “inclement weather.” Shout-out to the River School Farm of the Sierras to the north. I am dedicated to preserving natural resources and I am intrigued by Sante Fe's region as well as Taos' movement in earthship building . I believe this fits well with the long-standing history of the indigenous peoples to use the resources and earth around them to build homes and become protected by the elements.
