To meet local people and experience travelling from another perspective. I enjoy Hostel travelling as well but the experiences you make when staying with someone who lives in a place are completely different to those you make when exploring with other travellers from a hostel.

Some of the things I like are water & winter sports climbing, trying out foreign cuisines, walking and hanging out around new places.
