I couchsurfed all throughout my travels in my 20s, officially and unofficially through CS, and have always looked back on those moments and the people who opened their homes and shared their lives as being my favourite. A big part of travel to me is building communities and networks of like-minded people across continents and national borders.

I travelled from Cape Town to Cairo overland, hitchhiking and camping a major part of it.
