Hi! I am Tokyo-born, California-raised and I go to university in San Diego where I study cognitive science (it’s like psychology) and design. I can talk for hours about city/urban design as well as sustainable development for developing countries, and love listening to people’s crazy experiences and stories. In my spare time you can catch me listening to philosophy podcasts, watching cooking videos or cocktail making videos on youtube, and drawing (although I wish I could draw better). I’m also super into film photography—I’ll take a few pictures of you and send them to you once I get them developed back home 😉 I’ve been to only a few countries compared to a lot of people on CS but I want to open up my world more through traveling and talking to more people. Since I want to go into the humanitarian sector in the future, it would mean a lot for me to go out into the world and gain different perspectives and world views. I consider myself a pretty open-minded but the goal is to always make myself even more open-minded and more empathetic through meeting new people!

I think that one of the most enjoyable things about travelling is experiencing a new culture and meeting new people. I live vicariously through crazy stories that people have to share and I enjoy conversations that can really open up my perspective. I’ve always veered towards a less touristy, more local perspective of the city I’m staying in and I think CS is the perfect platform to become intimately connected to people and a new city. Excited to become friends with you and make some amazing memories!

我做过的一件令人惊叹的事
I’m learning how to do stick and poke tattoos! Also went to Nepal by myself for about a month when I was 17... which was pretty crazy. I also met the Vice President of the Philippines (NOT the president!!) last summer. I can elaborate on all of these once we meet!
我能与房东分享的
I can make some Japanese dishes, and a pretty good french toast. A super simple Japanese lesson if you’re up for it. Deep conversations post midnight. If I have my supplies, I could also give you a tattoo ⭐️
