I don’t like being a hardass, but I’m tired of getting requests from people who put no effort in their requests and treat me like a free hotel. If you are queer please mention it in your request, I love hosting other like minded people. I lived in Zambia for seven years, went to an international school and met people from all over the world there. I learned so much from that experience and hope to keep doing that through couchsurfing. I've met people I would otherwise never have the opportunity to interact with, heard interesting stories and perspectives, had great conversations, and learned so much. I’m on here because I enjoy making genuine human connections, and I hope to host people with the same mindset.

It's too hard to just pick one so here's a few: I worked on a National Geographic research project in Tanzania one summer and made some exciting new discoveries, spent seven weeks backpacking across Europe when I was a student, studied abroad in New Zealand for a semester, walked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back in two days, and walked 500km on the Camino de Santiago.
