Once in South Africa, I was having dinner alone in a small town next to the sea. After ordering my last glas of wine, I just met a group a girls, all young volunteers by children of this small town. They invited me to join, and I had an amazing night, especially when we went out in a small local club in the middle of the township, litterally nowhere, and I was (except the two girls volunteering who had taken me out) the only foreigner (and white) guy in that place. That was really a singular experience, and one of the best in my life. I would never had lived it without randomly meeting nice people around. This is what couchsurfing is about!
