I really like getting to know new cultures and I think traveling is a great way to do it, but I truly believe the people you meet on the way are the most important part of the experience. I think Couchsurfing is the best place to connect travelers with locals and allow a cultural exchange. I have received on many occasions help from strangers when traveling, and I think CS is a great way for me to give back, help, and share with others!
