HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING My husband, Juergen, and I traveled around Northern California one summer. He had never couchsurfed, but he's convinced now! I've hosted people when I was in college living in a shared house. It was refreshing to bring new people to our home to liven things up and throw some new languages in the mix. One of my closest friends, Mauro, came out of my couchsurfing experience! His family took me in as a surrogate American daughter for about a week.
