I have been in tourism all my life! Was involved in mountaineering, climbing, white water rafting, skiing... Worked as a tour guide in Altai mountains. At the moment I do my best to help rural territories to live - mainly via rural tourism. Sustainable tourism is the focus of my PhD dissertation that I am currently working on.

I am here because tourism and traveling is my life. I used to have a guest house in the mountains and I remember we started it not as a business but because when we moved in a village, I knew that my friends would definitely be coming to visit us and I need a space to accommodate them. That was years ago, I left that village and I had to leave my country, but I still keep this feeling - how great it is to welcome guests and be welcomed by guests. When I travel I prefer to stay with local hosts, not in hotels, as this is the way to get new friends, to learn about authentic life in a village or city, to have interesting conversations and to share ideas.
