To the couchsurfing world where I have made so many wonderful lifelong friends. This new site is so shit that I probably won't remain on here much longer. I am the kind of host who all travellers appreciate and its sad that my 12 years on here will soon come to an end because of the useless, non caring dickheads who have taken on and completely ruined couchsurfing and everything connected with it. They are completely ignoring so many if us who truly hate what they have done. I hope that the many like me leave this behind and we all find a new service that is similar to the one we loved. HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING My home is open to anyone. I have many hundreds of friends in many dozens of countries and I love them all. I am a fun, friendly and very entertaining host. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE THIS COUCHSURFING SITE IS VERY IGNORANT. THERE IS NO SUCH COUNTRY AS UNITED KINGDOM.....I live in WALES and when you visit me you will remember that you came to WALES, NOT uk Jan 2019, doing a far east trip for whole of Jan and having a go at CS myself for a change. It's early days yet (writing this 27 Dec 2018) but so far, can I just say how WONDERFUL the people in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam are, getting so many lovely messages and offers.....Vietnam, I am so now looking forward to your country, you wonderful people have already made me feel so welcome even a month before i arrive. 2020 update. Vietnam was as amazing as I expected, wonderful country. Hong Kong was awful experience and now would rate it as worst country I ever visited. My visit to Thailand was life changing....completely. I am glad I went to China last year and not this year and swimming with dolphins in Singapore was brilliant.

Burning Shore, A time to Kill, Pillars of the Earth and Fall of Giants I like Sci Fi and legal films and series (Orphan Black, Parenthood, Gilmore Girls, Warehouse 13, Everwood, Grimm, Discovery of Witches). Whenever I listen to the radio, daytime, night or in my car, I only ever listen to TalkSport Radio. Hawksbee and Jacobs and the 2 Mikes are my favourite, but if I now ever do listen to music it is either hip hop and house music mainly (and of course Ellie Goulding).

I have many amazing things actually, but my current favourite achievement is that I have visited every single Capital City of Europe 52/52 (I don't count Vatican as a city or a country, it's a church, but if you do, then I've been to 53 :-D ). Amongst some of the other amazing things I have done in my life is Bomb Disposal. I was a Bomb Disposal expert in Northern Ireland in 1980. A few of bucket list things I have done...swam with Dolphins and played with elephants, looked down into a volcano, seen the northern lights, been around Auschwitz and Sanchehaussen, been down inside the Pyramids and the Vietnam War Tunnels, been on the Great Wall of China, Colosseum all around Red Square, Times Square and Tiananmen Square, Twin Towers memorials in New York, cruised around Bahamas and Caribbean and produced 3 amazing sons.

I love to teach (and to learn) and I have 200 years of experience. I know a lot about a lot and there are not many subjects that I am not able to discuss with interest I am a professional youth worker and a father of 3, grandfather of 2 and I have a special affinity with young people in particular. I do spend a lot of time on facebook as so many hundreds of my wonderful, personal close friends live there (I have brought more than 400 young people and youth workers from about 40 countries to Wales for projects and many, I have changed their lives). This is from a message I received only yesterday (March 2020) "I wanted to tell you THANK YOU for my first project. It changed my life and opened up to English and opened the door to the world. This project gave me confidence and faith in my own abilities". Never stop learning or teaching.
