I am very glad that I accepted his invitation, because I was able to gain insight about the life of a Mayan family, insight that marked me forever in a very positive way. I had a lot of fun learning how to make tortillas that we later shared for dinner. I also enjoyed helping his sister with chopping vegetables that she sells on a local market - it reminded me on my childhood when I was doing it with my granny :) If you have a chance, don't miss his beautiful family, it will enrich you for sure! Apredí mucho sobre Sololá, Panajachel, Lago de Atitlán, y sobre todo sobre la cultura Guatemalteca. We all gathered in the kitchen area and prepared a traditional mayan meal together. It was also fun to work together to help his sister to prepare vegetables for selling in the market. He and his family is so incredibly nice, and they were so generous. I actually got sick with stomach parasites while at his place, and was so fortunate to be able to rest in a private room with my travel partner while I was there. They are so authentically Mayan, staying with them was a blessing and a rare treat, one that I am endlessly grateful for. Plus Pablo is so knowledgeable about the land, and about the Mayans, it was such a pleasure chatting with him. Thank you again for everything! I highly recommend hosting with Pablo & his family.
