After a few uncomfortable experiences, I’ve learned the importance of communicating my boundaries clearly — this helps make the stay pleasant for both hosts and guests. • I use Couchsurfing for cultural exchange and genuine connection — not for dating or hookups, business, paid services (no tour guide). If it happens, I will mention in my reference. • I usually try to keep an early night around 10–11 pm because I feel much better with good sleep. If that’s not quite aligned with your routine, no worries — I’d be fine to stay somewhere else like a hostel or hotel. • I don’t smoke or drink alcohol, but I don’t mind if others do — I’d just appreciate it if you could avoid smoking directly around me. • I only add people I’ve met in person, so please don’t send a friend request unless we’ve actually met. I’ve been part of the Couchsurfing community for 13 years. Over the years, I’ve both hosted travelers and surfed in many homes — so I understand how it feels on both sides.
