If I were to choose between adjectives, I'd say curious, adventurous, geeky, and analytical. I travel with a direction in mind but not a timetable: I enjoy taking time to immerse myself in the sights and sounds of unfamiliar locales. Being in friendly company is a plus, irrespective of barriers.
